I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sars said she hasn't updated the list! Not because you're lame ass.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Very neat! That's pretty amazing to have raised that much in just a couple days.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's really cool. Have our buffista public school teachers registered projects with donors choose? 'Cause they totally should. I don't qualify because I only work with one public school and I'm not employed by them.

Punishingly Intricate

Such a great idea! I forwarded information to all the teachers I know around the country.

Liese, now that I'm out of the classroom, I can't register a proposal. K did but it is "under review" and I fear all of the challenges will be over BEFORE it gets posted.

The status is NOT quo.

I can't either since I'm no longer in the public schools, but I'm so very happy that this program exists.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

If it doesn't end up on Sars' list, I'll blog about it, and maybe we can ask Jilli to do so as well at GCS.

It's so awesome that we have connections.

Just let me know when. Do you want me to mention it in the next GCS column that I should be writing, oh, tonight?

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

I seem to recall this thread being beagle-friendly somehow. This beagle-centric item has been making its way around local fannish circles lately:

Alza Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson Company, is closing their Mountain View, CA. facility. The animal test facility has 40, 16 month old beagle puppies that need good loving homes. These dogs were NEVER tested.

If you know of anyone, a rescue or are interested in helping give these puppies homes, please contact Rick Bible at: azoulaybible@hotmail.com

The facility manager will have to put them to sleep if no homes are found by OCTOBER 15TH!!

Thanks for your help!!!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, beagles. Seabiscuit claims he needs a puppy, and what with the tragedy of us depriving him of his natural ability to meet such a need, we should feel obligated to provide him with one. We keep telling him that he's very expensive and just as soon as he starts earning his keep, we'll let him have a puppy. He counters that were it not for his extensive abilities as a guard dog, we would have by now been inundated by ill-meaning robbers, drunk hitchhikers, pedestrians with strollers, and squirrels, and therefore he has already earned his keep several times over. We are at an impasse.

All of which is to say, aww, beagles.

And also, aww, charity.
