[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No killing Mrs. Landingham! Honestly, you bloodthirsty people.

No killing Mrs. Landingham!

That's so been done.

Visilurking

The description does sound a bit hokey, but I have no doubt there will be darkness and pain and more than a little bloodletting.

Now if you can get Ron Glass for the title role...

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoot! Congrats, Tim! Yay, ABC!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

And separately, you can bet there will be criticism. Because it's about religion, to start. But also because it's Tim, and will therefore likely be real and dark and heartwrenching, and of course, we cannot have those things in religion. You know, despite that fact that Christianity is, in fact, bloody with the dark and heartwrenching.

This was one thing I was just a bit worried about as I read the description. Those Focus on the Family types are probably going to have something to say (whether they actually bother to watch the show or not before forming an opinion).

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Congrats, Tim. I am so very happy that this will be on ABC. Yay!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

::Rubs hands together in antici...pation:::

Oh, nice. Something good to watch.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Those Focus on the Family types are probably going to have something to say

Well, they made 65k complaints over THE INSIDE so they'll probably keep an eye on this. Which, by the way, I'm all for - there's no better publicity than having family groups whining about your product.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

The way Tim explained it to me was that there's this faithless scam artist bilking old ladies out of their retirement money with smoke-and-mirror "miracles," and god's sense of humor is to give the dude the ability to perform miracles...but only when no one is around to witness it, and in such a way that it's just a hair over onto the ambiguous side so the event could be Scully-ed.

I could be talking out of my ass, but I thought it was a hilarious concept that God would be all, "okay, you can part the red sea, but only when no one's around, so you can't capitalize on it, jerkface."

Except he's never entirely sure it's a miracle or an accident, because he has no faith.

If I have it right, there's no burning bush tell him to lick the light switch.

Now I am sure Tim will drop by and tell me I wasn't paying attention at all.
