Hasn't past experience taught us that one of the things in very short supply at Fox is sense.
'Beneath You'
The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Well, it's not sense really -- Drive's been off the air for months, so no promotion, and it's moved timeslot, and got a worse one, and it didn't rate well to begin with. Result? Putting Bones or Standoff in it's place will do better.
That said: bastards, they are. Only because they kept saying they would air it. Like they did with The Inside. Fool me once, I suppose.
I think the thing I learned from the far-outside with Drive is that as soon as people at the network realise you aren't a pre-made hit show, you're pissing into the wind.
How about a promise of ice cream when you come a-book-touring?
Paperdol, I will ply you with ice cream OR local yummy cupcakes. Or homemade!
P.S. Your book rocks. Loved the first readthrough! I especially loved the chapter about the Intenets wanting the daughters of the world. I couldn't agree with you more, especially speaking as an educator.
Damn. That totally sucks.
Standoff and Bones are taking the schedule back on the 13th.
Parachuted in when I heard the latest Drive news. Gol durn it. I hope iTunes puts them up. I mean, they were soliciting "season passes" that included paying for those two episodes...
paperdol, I'd like to join the list of those willing to ply you with gelato gift certificates and whatnot if I can obtain what Fox so cruelly denied me. Or other giftages of your choice. Or filthy lucre. Whatever.
edit: shoot. iTunes store readjusted the season pass to be just for 4 eps. Which I bought long ago.
Paperdol, I will happily trade ice cream for, um, entertainment. You may find yourself quite rich with offers of ice cream.
hooray for ice cream!
We should have an ice cream party and watch the last two eps.
Then Kristen can sign autographed copies of her script.
I'm pretty sure the only way anyone would be interested in my autograph is if there was a check involved. And given my lack of riches, maybe not even then.
