Well, I may have just not been paying attention - that happens a lot - but whenever Firefly: AA came up it was Jeremy talking about what had been done. I just checked and it's termed as "we" did this and that, so I don't think it comes off wrong, it's just kept generic.
I liked DTI more than I thought I would. It's certainly extremely professionally put together.
Gotcha. That makes sense.
And I was very impressed by the professional look of the promo they put together. Glad to hear the documentary lives up to that.
Yep. I think the only errors I could really see was the background noise during Joss' bit (which, of course, isn't something they could get around) and the light reflecting in Tim's glasses (he was facing a window to the outside by the looks of it). And lets face, if that's the biggest problem on a home brew documentary you've done well.
Let's compare this to the one I shot last year. We basically lost the Edinburgh world premiere footage as it was recorded in the wrong DV format, the handheld bits I shot looked appauling, sound was completely wank and there was no time or budget to edit it together. So Jeremy and friends did a little better. I since have thoughts about doing a film on how not to make a documentary, as I think I'd be superb on that subject.
Does anyone know, was Men Without Hats, Safety Dance, any sort of inspiration for the look of Pylea (or even just for Numfar)?
Folks, does anybody know if Nilly's review of Serenity is still kicking about anywhere? Somebody is asking for it: [link]
By the way, Topic!Cindy - best link ever.
shrift posted in the Firefly topic, I believe, that Nilly's site was going to be inaccessible for a bit. shrift's domain was hacked, and she's been killing herself for the past week trying to get everything back up. Maybe someone who's a member of that board could post the information there? I expect it'll be back up soon.
Cheers, Dana. I've let them know. Nilly - you are a total celeb in the Firefly world, you know.
Too bad nilly.shriftweb.org is down due to Shrift's hacker issues.
Just caught Done The Impossible. Tim is very cute, and makes the best joke in it.
The one about how
Firefly fans are losers just like the crew?
Hee.
I, too, was impressed with how professionally done it was.
In other news, I just read the pilot script for
Drive,
and it's pretty fantastic. I'm really excited about it now.
