The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Everyone would love Drive! It's the kind of thing people like!

Yeah, if people were given a chance to fucking find it. Or hear good things about it. I mean, it's been 10 days since the first episode aired. 10 days. People go on vacation for longer than that. Or are sick for that long. There's a billion reasons people could not be watching yet.

I don't get the not being pissed at FOX thing. I'm pissed at them. I know it's a business and I know the ratings were going down. But, 10 days? That's completely insane.

And putting it up against popular reality shows while not giving it the time to find its' footing? Even more insane. I'll never understand it.

hip deep in pie

I'm sorry Tim and Kristen. I totally think it wasn't given enough time to find an audience.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Especially because I'm definitely the kind of person who doesn't watch a new show the first couple of episodes, because I'm waiting to hear what other people say, and if it seems like it'll stick. Of course, I'm not a Nielsen family, so it doesn't count, but STILL.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yeah, crap. The fourth episode finally hooked me good. Then I turned on my computer, saw the news elsewhere, and came here.

I'm sorry this is happening. Again. It's gotten to the point where even gallows humor wears thin.

Sorry Tim, sorry Kristen, sorry Nathan et al.

::sigh::

Even my nine year old son is bummed. He has yet to be jaded by network bullshit and is just very confused.

Because books.

I just got home from work, and saw all the posts.

Damn. I'm so sorry, Tim and Kristen. Drive was a hell of a lot of fun, and I've already stamped my foot that I won't get to know "the real Alex Tully" and what's up with Wendy's husband, and what happens to John, and who the hell set this race up and controls it.

Many thanks to the great cast and all the wonderful folks who made it.

::slinks off to pout for a bit::

Well, crap. My condolences to Tim, Kristen, cast, crew, and staff. I was enjoying the show (I almost typed "ride." Groan.), and... well, just bleh. I think I'll go join AmyLiz.

There's plenty of room in the pouting corner. And there's also plenty of liquor.

If you have cheescake and chocolate, I think all the mourners can be a little happier in that corner.

I've been sitting in the pouting corner. I really thought this one had a chance.
