The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Don' be e-scared"

So my office staff and and I spent our commiseration today watching DVDs of The Inside. Well, hell! That show was GOOD! And in light of recent events, seems like one of my long running shows.

Just got the news when I finished music spotting episode six -- hilariously, a HUGE cliff hanger. But I knew this was coming the day after the aborted launch.

Next time, I think fall might be a better time of year to try and convince people you have a show. This mid or late season thing, not so much.

If anyone didn't think Fillion was the most charismatic leading man around, I think we might have disabused them of that notion. God damn he's good.

I work for the company that produces Dancing, so I'm a bit protective of it. (Even if I didn't know and like the people involved, the money it makes does partly determine my annual bonus.) Can we dump on American Idol instead?

Maybe if it hadn't killed THE INSIDE too. Sorry can't do it.

Mucho sympathies for those that were directly involved (and woes for the rest of us). Dammit.

The status is NOT quo.

I hardly warrant it, but...okay (blushing). And at the next F2F you can wear that, and I'll wear my "What scrappy said" t-shirt, and possibly Robin will wear a "What Betsy said" t-shirt, and it can go all the way round to whoever has the spiciest brains of all, and that person will wear a t-shirt that says either "HELLS YEAH WHAT I SAY" or "Seriously, y'all, @@."

Hee.

And the back of my t-shirt will say, "Don't even think about listening to me. I used up my braincells learnin' the chillens."

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Maybe I can make a popup book with what is supposed to happen next, Tim.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I TiVo as much to have the episodes for rewatch as to watch them live.

Yeah, but you forward through commercials, so you don't count to advertisers.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be working. Do you have to stay with Fox? Because of the contract?

If Tim's channeling Deborah Kerr, I don't want to know who Kristen's channeling. Sympathies to you both, though. I'm bummed that the show didn't do better, because I really expected that it would.

"Drive Runs Out Of Gas"???? Shee-it. Now if I had a pun-master like that on staff, maybe we'd still be on.

I don't have to stay with Fox, no. My deal is with 20th, not the network.

It just occurred to me that maybe why Joss hasn't come back to television (and gone to comics and hopes of movies) is that he realized he got really, really lucky with a show and a spinoff that went as long as they did.

Tim, Nathan ROCKED, especially when his History of Violence side came out (and like Viggo's character, with a huge well of both rage and compassion buried there). I was hoping to see a bit more. FUCKING A!
