Regardless of whether or not "everybody does it," it is NOT something we should discuss, and I'm asking you, Kevin, to please stop discussing it.
What Tep Said.
I don't want to be rude, but this isn't the first time it's come up, and we have a longstanding community rule of The First Rule of Aheming TV is You Don't Talk About Aheming TV. You can disagree with it in private all you want, but please respect the community standards regarding this issue when you post.
We should put together a top ten muscle car movie list!
I'd go for the biggies from the late 60s/early 70s: Bullitt, Vanishing Point, Two-Lane Blacktop, the French Connection. Anyone else?
Okay, I never said "everybody does it", nor did (or do) I want to have a discussion about the ethics of downloading. But I shall pretend I'm flying to the US to watch it to make people happy.
We'll just pretend you're taking the secret Google trans-Atlantic tunnel here to Boston to watch it with us.
We should put together a top ten muscle car movie list!
Does the French Connection count as a "muscle" car movie?
They're later than the 60/70s, and not really about "muscle" cars (although I guess Max's counts), but THE ROAD WARRIOR and TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. have great car scenes.
Okay, I never said "everybody does it"
I didn't mean to imply that you did. The "everybody does it" excuse is often invoked by other people (not you) who defend their illegal downloading of media.
Because it's a common defense against illegal downloading, I mentioned it pre-emptively.
nor did (or do) I want to have a discussion about the ethics of downloading.
IT IS ILLEGAL. What part of that don't you understand? It's illegal, and therefore, if we do it, WE DON'T DISCUSS IT.
Thank you for understanding and complying with the community standards.
Does the French Connection count as a "muscle" car movie?
Maybe not. I was just thinking about that great car chase, but those weren't muscle cars, really.
I didn't even think about it when I posted the offending post, so it wasn't intentional. In fairness, it does get discussed all over Buffistas all the time -- just with the word downloading substituted with 'ahem'.
Really, it's between the Buffista and hir conscience, but the first rule of Ahem Club is you don't talk about Ahem Club.
