Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have the Gavin Rossdale opening credits thingy.

Heh.

Art Crawl!!!

I like that the TV Guide piece references TAR in it's opening sentence:

Rob and Amber wouldn't survive a day in this sprawling journey.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, who dies, who dies? We gotta set up our season-long bets now! I gamble that Alex dies in the first five minutes but doesn't know it and narrates the rest of the show from his ghostly flaming shell! And he finally reunites with his wife and she's all, "His head....was on fire...."

Highlights from the letter (which I would appreciate you all pretending you did not get from me):

March 21, 2007

Dear Television Editor/Writer/Critic:

I am truly excited to be able to provide you with the enclosed pilot episode, "The Starting Line," of our new series DRIVE. Unless you really hate it, in which case, the less said the better, and we need never speak of this again.

[blah blah blah this is not a final version redacted] Additionally, the episode has not been color-corrected, and is missing opening/closing credits. And it may not make any sense, but there's at least one plot point that might be offensive to people of faith, and some of it is in French. Also, we were going to do this totally cool thing with a goat, but that fell out. Look for more goats in the future. As Peter Ligouri has said to me on more than one occasion: "Once you're a hit show, goats. And many of them."

[blah blah blah don't pirate this dvd redacted] To make up for that, FOX is providing you with a cool roadside emergency kit, which will come in handy when your car breaks downs on a deserted, unlit country road one evening.

[publicist contact info redacted]

I hope you enjoy the episode as much as we enjoyed making it! Actually, more, since it was kind of brutal, truth be told.

Best regards, Tim Minear Creator, Writer & Executive Producer, DRIVE

Strega: Oh, DUH. And skwee. Can't wait.

Just got the second hour. Going to watch soon. Wish you were all here. :)

What is even happening?

Thanks, jengod. That was pretty adorable (not that I expect less from a Second Coming).

Hey now, if you mock the ass kissing, I might take it away. ;) [skitters back into the darkness]

Oh, I wasn't mocking your ass kissing. That was excellent ass kissing. I was mocking Tim.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Oh, I wasn't mocking your ass kissing. That was excellent ass kissing. I was mocking Tim.

That's the kind of talk that gets your husband killed on a TV show.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, I love it! Oh, Tim. Hee.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What's in the Drive roadside emergency kit, and dare I check eBay to see if they're being hawked yet?
