[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

What is even happening?

I took a survey at the NBC website last night. They asked which networks you watched, how often, and which shows, and how often.

They already have Drive listed on the page where they ask which FOX shows you watch, so I ticked the "Regularly" box for Drive.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So uh, Drive. First ep's pretty damn good.

Still not a Fillion fan, but he's much better cast here than in Firefly.

The rest of the cast, I like a lot. I thought the pacing was a little rushed, but I'm not sure how to fix that AND introduce the ginormous cast AND get through all the exposition about the race. Now that the introductions are out of the way, I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Dude! I haven't seen it yet. I've read 4000 versions of it.

I win at watching!

Or, uh, something.

I also should mention that the effects are very snazzy. Not just the greenscreen work for the car interiors, but some of the transitions from one car to another are pretty cool. Not flashy, but cool. I approve.

(Still wish Fox had sent out the full 3 hours, unfinished effects or not. If BSG waited until the final vfx and audio mix was done to send out a screener, nobody would ever review the show at all.)

I gotta admit, when I saw the original pilot, I thought the effects at the end were cool. Then I was informed they were place-holders. I felt like the biggest moron. No taste!

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

sarameg, I totally didn't like the effects at the end of the original pilot -- it threw me out of the moment as the trees looked computer gamey. Had no idea they were placeholders, so that's cool.

11 days..

I just read an awesome review from US Weekly.

So proud of Tim. I think I'll make the long drive to give him cookies.

(He moved far away from me, sob)

This might just be my favorite promo for TV's hit Drive.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ooh, it's the guy from "The Magic Bullet"! I met him. He was cool.

Eleven more days!
