Ooh, I like Brian Tyler!
Just looked him up (I know him from Children of Dune), he's done mostly film, couple of TV shows. That explains the cinematic feel of his music.
I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

We had a few email with artists pimping their songs for the opening credits. One of them was convinced their song was perfect for the tone of the show, but it was a folksey guitar song.
