We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm not sure I've heard about that one.

Jeff Pruitt - the stunt coordinator on Buffy. Left in a huffy huff (much to the show's detriment, actually), and spammed the boards with lots of insider gripe and gossip with a lot of "everybody supports my negative opinions in email" type innuendo.

The guy was a a great fight coordinator, but also an unsocialized dick.

The main common factor though is presuming to speak for a large, silent group with the "everybody knows" element.

eta: Heh. I forgot about his parable. What a fruit loop. Nonetheless, the fights weren't even remotely as good after he left. His fight choreography always had its own narrative flow that did a good job of capturing something of the character. Afterwards they had the two stunt doubles that didn't match SMG very well and they had to do a lot of cutaways, and quick edits and it was just (to me) wasted screen time that wasn't exciting.

The fights between Buffy and Faith were always cool and exciting and very character driven. He also designed a lot of fights with differing horizontal planes - lots of stuff coming off cars and tables - that added a lot of visual interest.

Holy shit, that poster was crazy! Sure, Marti Noxon's done some bad work, but she's done great work as well, especially in Buffy's early seasons. I've never really understood the Marti-bashing (but then, I really loved season six, even if not everything worked). There are some writers I largely dislike, but I can still recognize when they do good work. Like David Simkins. When Joss hired him as the showrunner for Angel I was freaking out, cuz his previous work wasn't very good (Charmed, FreakyLinks). Then he left because of "creative differences" and I was happy. And then he wrote the "God's Will" episode of The Book of Daniel, which was the most brilliant episode of that series, and I gained a newfound respect for him, even if he's still not one of my fav writers.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Thanks for the info on Pruittgate. Now I can take the crazy rantings of a nutcase on the Wonder Woman IMDB board and put in context. Not that I ever paid attention to it, but now it is nicely filed away in my brain.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"The Parable of the Knight" by Jeff Pruitt

Oh my God. Wow. That's...nuts. (The General is Tim, right? No wonder he pretends he never worked on Buffy. Murderous fiend.)

I was amused at the presence of a Sheriff in the story. winks at Cindy

The fights between Buffy and Faith were always cool and exciting and very character driven.

Did he do the fight at the end of "This Year's Girl"? Because that kicked serious ass.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I just Googled for Jeff Pruitt, and found a link going on about Pruittgate and The Bronze, with quotes from Allyson. Heh!

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Nothing beats Pruittgate

I saw you bring that up over there and almost snorted milk out of my nose. Pruittgate, color wars, blinking tag? all before my time, but all still so much fun to relive.

What is even happening?

I love what Joss did for Marti, right there. I love it like chocolate covered in chocolate, filled with chocolate, and topped with chocolate sprinkles.

For the record.

P-C, you will have mail in a few moments.

I was out running in a sling. I came back to Cindy mail. And it was good.

Hi, Cindy. I had to go check out what Joss said- yeah, I lurk- and I totally agree with you. Good for him. I stand second to no one in my disdain of the last two seasons, but good lord... Marti rocks. or just what Joss said about her. Plus, the hotness and pleasant singing voice.

Allyson- I'm really looking forward to the book. I remember you putting together a gift pack for Marti when she had a baby. And as I recall, Jeff was online for days, like all weekend. But he and Sophia made the fights rock.

God, I'm posting at the Bronze, posting here, I have no idea what's going on.

But waiting on TV's hit Drive! More Tim, please. Oh, yeah, that's why I still lurk in this thread...
