Okay, don't want to reopen old wounds, but I've been broadbandless for a week due to movin'...
I am worried that people will not feel comfortable expressing their true opinons.
Personal opinion, but I will put anything out there about the show I think which works, doesn't work or just plain sucks. And I don't expect anybody to take it personally, unless I phrased something that way. Unless anybody tells me not to.
I will say this: I've seen personal signs that the network is getting behind this today.
I saw somebody reference DriveFans.com as a Save Drive site the other day on Whedonesque, and I'd like to be very clear on that point: can't answer for Jackal, but to me it has nothing to do with Saving Drive. That's Tim & friends and the network's job. It's about appreciating Drive. I literally have nothing in me that wants to fight with FOX, at least at the moment anyway.
That said, I think it's perfectly understandable why people are so down on TV networks.
Betsy, you're just cruel.
... and I'll have you know that I was not hungry at all this morning. But I wouldn't have turned down banana beignets for breakfast.

It won't need saving, cos it's not getting axed.
So, yeah, what you said...
What are these signs?
Can't say.
One thing I will say which bothers me a bit -- possibly from ignorance -- is the effectively 3 hour premier. Has FOX done that before for a new show? It just seems like you're placing a huge amount of faith an audience will stick with it for 3 hours. Faith is good, mind.

Three hours? Is that all in one night, or are they doing 2 one night and one the next (or vice versa)? I didn't think Fox had 3 hours they could use (except maybe on Sunday where it would need to start at 7) since they only go to 10 EST with network shows.
Three hours over two nights. I guess they're doing it 24-style, Kevin, which has done two hours each two nights in a row for the premiere a couple of years now.
2 hour premiere on Sunday, followed by a regular ep on Monday.
They're making it event, so you watch it like a movie on Sunday night, and then you follow on Monday to watch 103 on the regular night, as the lead-in to 24.
Which is what they did for 24 just a few weeks back, right?
I think when they hype the shit out of it as an event, it's generally a good thing.
A three hour event over a one hour premiere just after midseason proper sounds way more marketable to me. Could be wrong, but that's my opinion.
