I was surprised by these actually. They were better than I thought they would be.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Holy ass! It would be so awesome to send you for Tim's smokes with a big pregnant belly. Too bad he doesn't drink, because it would be awesome if you said, oh, and throw in a bottle of Wild Turkey, too.
Lee, I was looking for the TJ's naan, and they had none. I was bummed out.
Kat you don't have to bake. You can just sit there and knit blankets for the beagles to keep them from freezing in their cold, damp, crates. Poor things.
Dude, Baking is so much quicker!
Since I mentioned the pre-emptive cancellation talk overshadowing the show talk, I shall talk about the show and be all topic-y.
I have chosen to take the hiring of Riley Smith as a shoutout to me, what with him being from my home state (if you discount the fact that I was born in another country). Some may claim he earned it on his own merits; don't believe it. It's totally all about me.
Seriously, though, I found it interesting that the promo started with him, rather than Nathan. As a result, it took me a half a second to realize it was the promo, but I immediately shushed my family and made them all listen intently. I am intrigued, though. I guess I assumed Nathan would be pimped as the star, but Riley leading off the promo makes it seem more like an ensemble right out of the gate.

It took my roomie shouting, "this is it!" from the other room.
I'll probably still think I know better than you when you tell me it was good.
See, this sort of attitude just doesn't fly with me.
I know. It's a sideline of mine.
There's a "Ride of Your Life" sweepstake at the Drive website. Does contain spoilers for which state Nathan's character is from.
The network had different campaigns they wanted to do: one of them is the warehouse thing with cameras where the characters come in and "sell" themselves to the race. That doesn't happen in the show, but we thought it would work in terms of giving a sense of who the characters were. We ended up doing a full-on shoot of just material made for promos.
Instant bonus material for the DVDs, I says.
dear ita,
pot AND kettle need to have a talk with you.
I haven't seen any of the promos, because I Tivo everything and skip commercials. Maybe I should start watching them.
