Happy Birthday, Strega!
I fell asleep, last night, watching The Ref. This makes me sad but well rested.
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Kristen, how's the new job going? Is it what you expected?
In case she's wondering, from my POV her new job is going very well indeed. I had her write sides for a character we've yet to create and she knocked it out of the park. I've had co-ep level writers who couldn't do that.
But how is her behavior in the writer's room? I mean, is she sharing her toys and playing well with others?
Does she raise her hand or just blurt out the answers and not let anyone else have a turn?
She's very well behaved and nothing seems to shock her. We're working on that.
She grew up in New York.
She'll shock you, first.
Did she ever tell you the story about the time she woke up to find a dancing midget in her living room?
nothing seems to shock her.
When I stayed with her in August, she'd fall asleep to "City Confidential," and the oh-so-soothing tones of Paul Winfield cooing about serial rapists and murderers terrorizing cities and suburbs.
We're working on that.
Good luck with that.
Awwww. My boss is saying nice things about me on the internet that I can screencap and send to my mom...and my agent.
For the sake of accuracy, I would like to mention that the midget (who, I believe, was also a bodybuilder) wasn't dancing. He was doing crunches on the AbRoller. At the time, I thought I was dreaming and stood there for a moment to see if he was going to start speaking backwards or something.
To this day, I'm not sure why he was there.
As for the new job...it's pretty freaking awesome. In some ways, it's what I expected but, in other ways, it's not. I've gotten to do more than I thought I would as the babiest of the baby writers. Plus, I have an excellent boss who's really cool to work for. Though I am a little concerned now that he seems determined to shock me. I suppose that will make next week even more interesting in the office.
Basically, I'm just a big old dork who loves going to work every day. (Ask around. People will tell you. I never shut up about it.)

I'm completely unsurprised.
