Oh, wow. This place looks great. Oh, I feel like a witch in a magic shop.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I once went on a date with someone that enables me to know exactly what this would look like. With bonus S1 Buffy Cordelia personality thrown in for good measure.

I sense a story here.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I sense a story here.

Yes, I was wondering about that myself.

But you should definitely cast James Remar as someone!

Would you settle for a monkey? I keep trying to work one in to the show, just for you, but the idea isn't catching on. Yet.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Have a monkey win the race.

Actually, I think I just invented the first Drive fan fic with that plot.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Would you settle for a monkey?

Can it be a cheese eating surrender monkey?

I was going for a more intellectual monkey. Like the Seriously, Monkey monkey.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Like the Seriously, Monkey monkey.

Now that's a good monkey.

A finger monkey could work.

Or, a monkey with a fez. It's a classic for a reason.

Or in deference to Allyson's favorite vice, Smoking monkey.

eta: Holy shit! Where's Anya? Ice skating monkey

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I sense a story here.

Imagine 1997-era Cordelia Chase with shorter hair and a trim goatee. Wearing men's designer clothes instead of women's, and much smaller earrings.

The physical resemblance was freaky enough once I realized why the guy looked so familiar, but in addition the phrase "I'm not conceited, but..." popped up more than once during the swankiest dinner date I've ever had. Though I suppose the surreal nature of the evening was preferable to the sheer boredom a non-Buffy fan would have experienced listening to modeling career anecdotes for two hours.

Query: Does Ben Edlund have a site somewhere?

Something akin to Tim or Fury or Jane's blog or anything?

Google's not helping me.

Does Ben Edlund have a site somewhere?
I'm guessing not, because if Edlund had a web presence, I'm sure the Venture Bros. folks would have linked to it at some point.

Or maybe he's Josh Emery. Hm.

Would you settle for a monkey? I keep trying to work one in to the show, just for you, but the idea isn't catching on. Yet.

Aw! Hey, in lieu of a monkey, maybe you could just work in a reference to Chim-Chim!

I just want Remar because he was on Jericho and Galactica and I think it would be funny if he'd pop up on every show I recapped. Well, and 'cause he's cool, of course.

Tim, if you pop in again: did you get Fraction's package? Of stuff that you'll never have time to read?
