[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Speaking of which, food time for me!

Congrats, Tim!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Yay! More Tim.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Tim! Yay, Drive! I'm looking forward to it.

Hey, look! The news is already up at Variety.com.

Oh dear, and Drive ran over Beyond. With the deadly space virus and the hard-partying astrophysicist and all. That's such a shame.

(Hee.)

And if they're aiming to put it after American Idol? Sweet.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Does the thread slug need a title added, then?

ETA: Man, that came across like I actually care about the slug. In reality, that was my prosaic and bureaucratic way of saying, "Wheee! New Tim show!"

Yay!

Too bad about Beyond, though. It had a good cast: Adrian Lester, Merrin Dungey, & Seth Gabel.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Frankly, I was talking about this earlier to somebody -- in fact, whining, and said "This is the best Tim Minear pilot in terms of commercial success".

I stand behind that.

And I stand behind you. I really think this will be a hit. It's got mainstream appeal.

Now, I hope they don't put it against VM, or I will be annoyed.

Congrats, Tim!

Swouncing

Tim, congrats!

And, um, it's sort of still your birthday, in a way. I mean, some kind of birthday. The Hebrew date of your birthday is only on Thursday this year (yes, I've checked this morning, when I read the "Drive" news. No, I'm not some stalker fan or anything, really! It's very easy to find).

Now, when there's a time gap between the general date and the Hebrew date of a birthday, it's like all the days in between are birthdays, too. Or at least this is how they should be considered, in my (and several others') opinion. So, sort of. Um, if I try to neglect the fact that you're not Jewish and these dates don't mean anything in that case, and - oh, never mind.

I mean, "Drive"! Yay!

I feel like a show auntie.

Wouldn't your nephew be all jealous?

In reality, that was my prosaic and bureaucratic way of saying, "Wheee! New Tim show!"

I loved that practical angle of the joy.
