Was it nervous-making having a small (occassionally heckling) audience for the interview?
The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
The small occasionally heckling audience, primitive voice recorder and the unexpected news from earlier that caught me off guard was all nerve-making. Was it very obvious?
Your hands were shaking. It was adorable, though. Plus! You got a great parting gift. I wish I had one of those.
You realize you're supposed to say "no, not at all, you were the very picture of calm and collected."
Anywho... I'm here for two more days and have done Downtown, Hollywood, Sunset, the Mojave... Any suggestions for where else to go?
Have you been to the beach, Jackal? There's Third Street Promenade and the Pier in Santa Monica. Or you could have lunch at the Sidewalk Cafe in Venice. You can get a table on the patio and people watch, which is always fun.
Venice Beach is a lot of fun if you're into people-watching.
I would be remiss if I didn't pimp eating at Dar Maghreb on Sunset, though it is a bit pricey.
Could be beach bound tomorrow. I also have a nagging inner voice telling me to go to Torrance and do the Buffy thing. But everyone else's nagging voice tells me there's nothing else there.
Oh wow. Hm. Farmer's Market is great. You could see a movie at the Arclight Cineramamadomathingy on Sunset. If you haven't been to Santa Monica yet, the Pier is lovely.
LAistas? Suggestions?
Dare I say Disneyland?
There's a Chick-fil-A in Torrance. Home of the world's best chicken sandwich. That's all I got on the Torrance front.
Though, I'm not sure where you're staying but, if you went to Torrance in the late morning, you could hit the Venice/SM area on your way back up.
