I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Very interesting discussion. I left the office just as it started, and stewed in a crazy fucking funk my whole ride home.

This is reason #589742 why. It makes it very hard to think that good men, who don't view women as a collection of holes to fuck or flesh to punch, aren't a minority. I hate feeling that way about half the human race. But then, there's gangrapes and stonings and abortions outlawed in the US! And a debate that still goes about whether it is women who should stay home with the baby and somehow fathers never figure into it.

In this Allyson and I are one. I am increasingly failing to find the words to process the misogeny in this world and am becoming, slowly, more and more misanthropic. I am trying to find ways to channel my anger into something productive, but it gets harder and harder.

Anyway. It was kind of a weird relief to read that I'm not the only one. I gotta go to bed. Sleep, that's where I'm a Viking!

Awesome discussion though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That "free video" gag is one of Gawker's favorite things. It's pretty funny.

So, I got home later than expected and had to have emergency quick dinner instead of what I had planned, which is annoying. Also because I think I now have to make the more elaborate dinner anyway, so the parts don't go bad before I have a chance to eat them. Bah. I mean, what I ate was good, but I had A Plan.

News Alert! I did NOT get a call from my lost brother tonight. Which is good, considering he should have been home by then.

Do I grocery shop or clean tomorrow night? Either way, one gets done Saturday.... Uch.

Art Crawl!!!

TAR: Bye-Bye Nerds! It was fun while it lasted. And the Hippies and Frat Boys are the top two teams AGAIN. And there haven't been any non-E rounds yet, have there ?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have now made the parts of taco salad. I.e., I made some awesome guacamole, and cooked up some ground chicken with onions and spices. Now tomorrow I can just throw it together with greens and tomatoes and cheese and/or sour cream. Word. Of course, I'd rather go out and buy chips and eat the guacamole NOW NOW NOW, but I'll refrain.

Great discussion, sorry I was off having my head explode working.

Here's a fun thing: Internet Argument BINGO. [link]

Sadly, they don't cite Snacky's Law directly, although there is a bit about cliques and elitism.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, after all the serious gender discussions, I'm glad you're talking about TAR, sumi, that's what I checked in for. Hee.

I only caught the end so I just got to be bummed about the nerds! I was hoping for a non-E round. But they handled it so gracefully. I'll have to watch the west coast version to see the rest, but what put them behind?

Anyway, they're sweet. I'll miss them.

TAR: Well, they started out last and they just never caught up.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, that's what I thought.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sad about the nerds, but it was coming. They weren't even much hurrying, as far as I could tell.

I liked (gasp) the frat boys more this week, and even Lake and Michelle. I still can't bear Fran and whoosit. I really wish they weren't so far up in the pack.

Kind of a boring ep though, overall.
