Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just realized that I have a headache.

I feel a little slowwitted for not realizing it a half hour ago, but then again, I have a headache, so I shouldn't expect anything else.

Right?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Wow, we have one nifty rainbow going on right now, AIFG!

I'm going to owe on State Taxes so, I will just do those via mail

Sumi, if you're getting money back from Illinois and want to speed up the refund process, file online. The state's Dept. of Revenue website will steer you through the process one step at a time, and it's super easy. (Of course, my link to it is at work--just google illinois department of revenue, and you'll get there.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm going to ask for some Buffista help here - not for me, but for a situtation. We have n*a*z*i*s coming to town (starred to avoid search engines). We have idiots in town who want to get in shouting matches with them. However we have a compromise where they will be confronted with song lyrics and poetry quotations rather shouting matches if we can get a quick collection together. So can you post or e-mail me at profile with links to good lyrics and poems for this purpose? profile is good.

I wasn't sure if my suggestion of singing something from The Sound of Music would be sufficiently traumatic for the goosesteppers, but then my drive locked up playing an midi of "These Are a Few of My Favorite Things" and after hearing it play 15 times I'm convinced it's one of the most pernicious earworms known to humanity. Serenade in gleeful disdain.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My best friend was just being sad that although she'd done something for her husband for their anniversary today, he hadn't done anything back. She understood that they were both busy and stressed (they're shooting a movie) and that he doesn't really do much but...you know. Something would have been nice. She finally tracked him down (he's been out all day) and he's told her to get pretty because they have a 6pm reservation, and their daughter will be staying with his mother.

How sweet! It's almost as good as the time my sister came over to bemoan everyone being insensitive to her birthday, and then went home to a surprise party in her apartment.

People who care for people are great.

Yet, somehow, I'm still in a pissy mood. A wee touch less pissy than before, though.
