Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh! So remember the semi-scandalous secretly-dating couple from a couple of months ago? He totally hooked up with someone else in Mexico! Escandalo!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Top 87 Bad Predictions about the Future

«It will be years - not in my time - before a woman will become Prime Minister.» - Margaret Thatcher, future Prime Minister, October 26th, 1969.

«Where a calculator on the ENIAC is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighs 30 tons, computers in the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes and weigh only 1.5 tons.» - Popular Mechanics, March 1949.

eta:

«Nuclear-powered vacuum cleaners will probably be a reality in 10 years.» -– Alex Lewyt, president of vacuum cleaner company Lewyt Corp., in the New York Times in 1955.

Um... huh?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

«Remote shopping, while entirely feasible, will flop - because women like to get out of the house, like to handle merchandise, like to be able to change their minds.» TIME, 1966, in one sentence writing off e-commerce long before anyone had ever heard of it.

OK, I realize this is my favorite rant topic, but SERIOUSLY! This is such post-war suburban middle class bullshit! How long was the Sears catalog the primary tool of shopping for how many people on the frontier? Kee-rist.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

you know, it is fun to watch Bones. It isn't very demanding, and they use that glint that DB's eyes. it's pretty, you like the geeks becauses they are geeky - but I never have much to say. Except to say I too wondered about Angela's ethnicity. For the first time .

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Bones is mindless fun, and the way DB looked tonight reminded me of how he looked in AYNOHYEB for some reason.

Wow. Criminal Minds was so totally and completely annoying tonight. I mean, why does someone need to CALL to send you backup? What the fuck happened to the black-and-whites that were stationed outside the house twenty minutes ago? Did you send them home after you arrested the paparazzo who you knew WASN'T the cuprit?

In related TV news, I read Crossing Jordan spoilers that also irritate.

Regarding Bones, I don't think we know much about Angela's mother but we know her dad is a member of ZZ Top so that solves half the puzzle.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Grrr. I'm having Elavil side effects (parasthesia--tingling of the lips, ears, and kind of fingers and toes) that are keeping me awake. I don't want to be awake.

Had a come-to-Jesus talk with a student today. I hope she takes it to heart. But we honestly said about everything we had to say about how she was in class and what she needed to change, including attitudinally. It was a very freeing sensation. I hope it works.

And can my face stop tingling now? It's way past my bedtime.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That's gross, ita. I hope it stops soon.
