Jayne: What're you gonna tell the others? Mal: About what? Jayne: About why I'm dead. Mal: Hadn't thought about it. Jayne: Make something up. Don't tell 'em what I did.

hip deep in pie

I have today off, so I feel for all you with Monday morning angst. Not enough to trade my day off, but I am thinking of you as I head to an afternoon matinee.

Swouncing

We had an election last Tuesday, but we don't get a day off for that.

That's because you don't have to decide between that many possibilities. When electing mayor, where there are onyl the 2 or 3 possibilities each, we don't get a day off, either. We have twenty-something parties to choose from.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sore throat and blocked ears (which explains a lot of my deafness over the weekend, as it grew to be what it is this morning). And nasal congestion.

So I'm home.

With zinc.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Poor tired and sickly folk. What a way to start the week. I hope you all feel better soonest!

Stanislaw Lem is dead.

I really hope I can head off this coldlet, but it's a bit comforting to know that my difficulty in hearing yesterday has a simple explanation. I have a deafness paranoia which was offset only slightly by having a hearing test come back normal.

The currently playing Miami Vice episode has Bill Russell, Bernard King, Michael Russell and Harvey Fierstein.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

My horoscope:

Some people are born great, and others have greatness thrown upon them. You, lucky thing, actually fall into both categories. Stop denying the star quality that makes you inherently you. Step up to the plate.

Okay, I'm no longer denying it. I'm a fucking star.

ION, What's the subject of Hec's new book? Someone at work was just raving about him, and I want to be all name-droppy and pretentious.

JZ - Mar 27, 2006 7:55:54 am PST #6403 of 10001
See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

ION, What's the subject of Hec's new book?

The album Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits.

Someone was raving about him at work? Raving in a good way? That's so freaking cool. The cockles of my heart are all warm and fuzzy and rolling around like happy puppies now.

eta: Everyone around these parts has been telling you you're a fucking star since forever, and it takes some total stranger with an astrology column to finally convince you? We are so wounded.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Since you can use these to communicate with the crappy drivers around you, it'd almost be worth the risk of having them hacked.

We are so wounded.

No kidding.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Happy belated birthday, Allyson.

Sorry for sucky Mondays. This is my first non-sucky Monday in a long time. No meetings today! At all. Only now I don't know quite what to do with myself.
