You know what's great about being back home? I don't need to plan out what I'm going to say. I just called a friend and literally paused to figure out the words, and then remembered I could just leave the message in English. Heh.

Jesse, it's good to have you home. I missed you.
My mom got him a little kid sized house for the backyard that has a wee nephew-sized picnic table and the front door has a doorbell that goes, "DING DONG!"
Best gift ever. Wow. If the backyard wasn't such a hazard zone I'd consider getting one myself.
Ohh, Burrell, the butter yellow must really open up the room. It's such a fresh cheery color. Did you find that walking into the house after the painting you'd think, "yeah, this is home."?
Sorry to disappear on you for so long (a friend stopped by, then eat time, as Franny calls it, then naptime). But yes, the color really warms up the room and makes me smile. I really need to invite folks over more, show it off a bit. After the dining room is finished. It's still far from finished, but it is way more livable than the crack den we moved into.
Aw, thanks, msb!
I am almost to the March shows on my DVR, yay!
Welcome back, Jesse!
I love painting my nails.

Sally Hansen silver chrome on the feet, I am going to try putting some purple polka dots on the toes. Not something I'd normally do, but spring here and the weather still too cool for open toe shoes makes it seem like a good idea.
Burrell, I loved yur den. Such a nice room.

When I came back from six months abroad, it took me three months to stop doing that. Or addressing people in not-english. I would read signs phonetically, and try desperately to figure out what on earth they were for a good few minutes before realizing it was a word in my native tongue. I made myself cry via too much laughter over several signs. Never could explain what was so funny about not comprehending a sign for spas and waterbeds.
My nephew stole the phone from my brother the other night. "What is your NAME!" "Aunt Sara" "Who is aunt!" "Sara, remember? I brought you the red crab?" "SARA! Dis you?" and his voice goes distant. My brother tells me he was holding the phone up to a picture of me from xmas. Heh. He then hung up on me because he wanted to call Britton, his friend. Oops, tossed over for a three year old.

Heh. I was only gone a week, so I should be over it by tomorrow, right? On the way home from the airport, we were talking about getting to and from the other airports, one of which you can get to via the Jamaica (Queens) subway station. Oh, I pronounced it in Spanish the first time, due to all the Jamaica flavored water I was buying. Whoops.
not so much news as an observation of what is on my tv - Eddie Cibrian= cute.
the purple didn't show so well, so the polka dots are blue instead. still fun.
