"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I wonder if that number goes back up during the 2006 midterms. I'm positive that the Republicans will be pushing the admendment to outlaw gay marriage in time for the midterms.

The rapid drop in opposition looks way too pronounced to be a general increase of tolerance in society to me. I have to wonder if there's not a very strong component of "hey, the people calling for the gay marriage ban are the same yahoos who said that there were WMDs and they were prepared for Katrina!" at work.

I kind of hope they do, considering how the other stuff they've pushed lately has backfired. We'll probably have gay weddings in the National Cathedral before we get the troops out of Iraq.

Frist has announced a vote during the week of June 5.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yesterday was nuts here at the office, but today is even worse. We're moving tonight/over the weekend and everyone's packing, etc. The movers are already in and moving big pieces like the conference room table, etc. We're getting no work done, which normally I'm okay with, but my dept is on deadline for some reports. I sent my minion home so she could get some work done there.

I haven't gotten it yet, but I did remind them this morning. I will get it, but I probably won't get it until 5-ish. Otherwise, I'd be headed home, too.

I did, however, wow my co-workers with my new pen. They are all jealous.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If anyone needs to kill some time and can play video (Quicktime) on their computer, I suggest going here [link] and watching the film "Birds" (top-left). It is slow-motion video of dogs flying. Or something. Fun to watch their expressions.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm cynical enough to believe that the drop in acceptance of gay marriage is because the far right shills haven't been advertising about how it's going to destroy society, et cetera.

signed, from MA where equal marriage is legal and society is doing quite fine, thank you for asking.
