No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Did y'all know that with all post-1995 cars you can connect a laptop to your car's computer and, with the right software, find out what exactly is causing the 'check engine' light to come on? Plus there's a million other things you can do (my boss did this to check the RPM of his Volvo after he put a different engine in it).

An aquaintance of mine actually took advantage of that. He was on a road trip with his wife when the check engine light came on and the car started running sluggish. He plugged his laptop in, found out a cylander had misfired and the car's computer had automatically switched the engine over to "limp home mode". He cleared the error, restarted the car and everything was fine for the rest of the their trip.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

And look what they got Sean Preston to celebrate his birth! >[link]

A nude Britney Spears on a bearskin rug while giving birth to her firstborn marks a 'first' for Pro-Life. Pop-star Britney Spears is the "ideal" model for Pro-Life and the subject of a dedication at Capla Kesting Fine Art in Brooklyn's Williamsburg gallery district, in what is proclaimed the first Pro-Life monument to birth, in April.

Just what IS it that makes her ideal and an inspiration? The fact that she is a healthy, rich chick who wanted a child? Or that she opted to take up with someone else's husband in order to do it?

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Wow. I'm sure it would be Windows-only, but I would think that such diagnostic software would be available only to the trade, right?

Available for anyone, but yeah, Windows in this case.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No, they've defined open standards for car computer communication (which went into effect for '96 cars).

Check this out: [link]

Or google OBD2, which is the name of the standard.

eta: or OBDII

A quick google turned up this: [link] Looks like it costs about $300 for the adapter and software. Not chump change, but probably cheaper than going to the mechanic when you don't really need to.

ETA: X-posty, naturally.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Plus, according to too much spam that's crossed my mailbox, there are plenty of nude pictures of her out there already. Why would anyone want to look at more? Or, for those of us who've made a point of avoiding them, why would we want to start looking now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Note to Verizon:

When I say that logging into your site doesn't show me any 2006 bills just 2005, that's what I mean. This is not my ISP's fault. This is not me not knowing where to look.

Note to lady in the next cube:

I supposed you'll be wearing that perfume all day, huh?

Yay!

Currently, 51% oppose legalizing gay marriage, down from a recent high of 63% just two years ago in February of 2004. The percent who favor allowing gay marriage has increased from a low of 29% in August of that year to 39% today.

...

The turnaround over the past two years is particularly distinct in the change among those who say they "strongly oppose" legalizing gay marriage. Just 28% take this position today, down from 42% in February of 2004, and the decline has been sharpest among seniors, Republicans and more moderate religious groups. Fully 58% of Americans age 65 and older strongly opposed gay marriage in 2004; only 33% are strongly opposed now. Two years ago 59% of Republicans strongly opposed gay marriage, while just 41% take this position today. And both white Catholics and non-evangelical Protestants are half as likely to strongly oppose gay marriage today as they were in 2004. Opposition remains strongest among white evangelical Protestants, 56% of whom strongly oppose legalizing gay marriage, down from 65% two years ago.
