Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The problem with vengeance is that it's a poor substitute for vindication.

I'd love vengeance or vindication for my evil ex-boss, who lied to me, about me, and treated me like shit on a job that started so promisingly and that I'd moved across the country to take. I fantasized for several years about making him pay, but nothing ever seemed like it would work, and it wouldn't ever get what I wanted, which was for him to admit that he was wrong and had mistreated me.

Because no matter what happened, he was never going to admit that I was right. So.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happiest of birthdays to Allyson's cutiehead nephew!

From tommyrot's link:

Edgell believes a fear of moral decline and resulting social disorder is behind the findings. “Americans believe they share more than rules and procedures with their fellow citizens—they share an understanding of right and wrong,” she said. “Our findings seem to rest on a view of atheists as self-interested individuals who are not concerned with the common good.”

Where do the Atheist-leaning agnostics fall under this study, I wonder? Are there torches and pitchforks for us as well?

Strawberry disappointment.

So, they pay me to catalogue antiquarian books, and I just stumbled across this amusing little number.

The rehearsall transpros'd : the second part. Occasioned by two letters: the first ... the second letter ... If thou darest to print or publish any lie or libel against Doctor Parker, by the eternal God I will cut thy throat.

From back when threats meant something.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, I'd like to see a picture of Prince's purple house. [link] And for that matter I'd like to see this too even though I'm not into Bond. [link]

My days of desiring vengeance have passed. I rid myself of the evil folk immediately. They become nonpeople, out of my thoughts and life. Some of the Evil ones are married to loved ones so I still have to see them. But they don't have the power to hurt me or make me crazy. I used to pity the spouses, but they choose to live with awful people and be abused. I can't make other people's choices.

Now you mess with my loved ones that are children or otherwise unable to defend themselves and fear me.

I've had evil bosses. I quit. I've had rotten boyfriends, I quit them. My rules are pretty simple. Treasure me or I got no time for you. Guess that's why I like it here so much. Y'all treat me well.

Note: If anyone has another email for Daisy other than the one in her profile send it my way. I haven't seen her here since the awful weather so I don't know if her internet is down. DH is headed her way Thursday and would like to see her again. eta: got it thanks.

Coding and Sleeping

I've never voted with the newfangled touchscreen stuff, but my favorite way of voting is optical scan.

Art Crawl!!!

When I saw from the early returns that Oberweiss was ahead, I feared for my state -- that guy is nuts.

Luckily things changed.

Not that I should complain -- I didn't vote.

Our wings are not tired.

We vote touchscreen. Everyone should vote optical scan. It's the most sense making way. Oh yeah, voting authorities not so much with the sense making.

Our wings are not tired.

I voted last week in our local elections. I felt kinda guilty when I voted for the mom of one of my son's friends. Luckily the persons who should have won did win in both races in my city.
