msbelle, I admit my ignorance, but - the Oscars are soon, right? So you're trying to catch up on movies before the actual Oscars?

Most of those movies didn't make it to Israel yet, if they ever will. I think only "Munich" is already playing here. But at least here we get to play "identify the next Israeli actor who appears for half-a-minute", or so I've heard.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm mostly Burrell re. foods. Except I drink my coffee with cream no sugar, am okay with green peppers (though I vastly prefer in descending order Yellow, Orange, Red), and I love love love oysters.

I've never met a cuisine for which I didn't like at least some dishes. (I can't make the sense grammatical in that sentence. Bottom line: I like all kinds of food.)

I can't think of a vegetable I don't like (beets should be roasted, as should brussel sprouts). I loathe black raisins and I don't really like blueberries (that's a texture thing).

TAR: I only watched the second half and I think I missed why the frat boys are so offensive. They behaved pretty decently in the hour I saw.

The hippies and the geek couple I also am enjoying. What about the mother/daughter team? What's their deal?

Nora, it is probably too specific and possibly not at all the direction you are going , but there are some reports on women in astro and physics here: [link] and here [link] ( afriend of mine was active in some of this, once upon a time.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Yes, the Oscars are sunday, so I am doing my annual pre-show marathon. I have only seen 4 of the major nominated movies so far. I will watch another Thursday night, another Friday night, hopefully these 5 on Sat., and then 2-3 more on Sunday. It is possible that I would go to one tonight, but I doubt it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The Oscars are this Sunday, Nilly.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

That's great, sarameg, thank you!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I thought the frat boys were very boring at first, but they grew on me by the end. They're big dorks, which I like.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I like that they aren't trying to pretend they're anything they aren't -- they're like, "we're lazy! We hate to work." I'm fine with that.

Were the hippies the only ones who actually had any Portuguese?

Thanks, msbelle and Jesse. And good luck with your marathons, msbelle!

Usually I know that the Oscars took place when I log in to b.org, see hundreds upon hundreds of new Natter posts, have no idea what the movies mentioned are (mostly) and enjoy skimming the clothes discussions. If all that the Oscars had were the Buffistas clothes discussions, I would still be quite pleased.
