To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry about Mr. J's grandmother, Daisy Jane. I hope he's doing OK.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thanks. It's been expected for about a week or so, I think the funeral is going to be tougher on him than he thought. I'm also sad for my mother-in-law. This is Mr. J's last blood godparent, which is affecting him hard.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I swear by my crocs. They come in two different kinds-the harder foam and the soft walking-on-air foam. If they're too small, flea, try men's sizes; but after about a week of wearing mine, they fit perfectly (and they were a size too small).

I think about the poor video-graphics-scoreboard person locked up in a trailer somewhere. Here is their moment of shining glory, the opportunity to make the world notice them.

Or I could just be reading too much into it...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So sorry for all the sad news, DJ.

Those shoes are cute.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thank you.

In not sad but kinda scary news. We're having a major storm thing here. I doubt I'll be able to leave the house, and am now wishing I'd gotten dinner as well as lunch and probably an extra pack of smokes.

This is down the street from my house.

Our wings are not tired.

Eeek. That looks nasty DJ. (hope you don't lose internet) Please send my sympathies along to Mr. Jane.

Another one from the same street closer to the house. I think I just lost tv. Must read GA watch and post if this continues.

ETA: Will do, Laura

Daisy, remind me where you are again. Brendon is going to be in Texas for 9 days starting Thursday and it would be lovely if he could swing by and have a drink with you. They are running all over. Dallas, Baton Rouge (yes, not Texas), Houston, San Antonio.
