Always Anti-fascist!

I LOVE Serpico. Although it's not everyone who can count that as mom-daughter bonding, but Baby! Pacino...guh.

I spent a very satisfying day hanging out with my friend (who is leaving) at her house. She's got a great 2 year old daughter who is just so...well, she's happy to play on her own, but likely to try to include you. She'll still happily in your lap as you talk to other grownups, just staring at you and twirling your hair. Then she'll roar off to torment the cats. And all this when she's sick.

I'm also really happy that the men my trio of first friends here married are guys I genuinely like spending time with. I talk to the husbands, I talk to the original friends, I'm equally comfortable with both. They are all my friends. There's never a feeling that I'm taking attention away from one or the other, or that my presence is just being suffered. No third wheel issues at all. Double bonus? Two of them are really really good cooks who like to feed people!

I know what it is like to just not like a good friend's other, when it isn't about their relationship, you just don't like that person, don't enjoy their company. It presents a wall in your friendship, one you always have to be careful to hide. Which sucks.

So today=good. And I'm going to miss having them in the area.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Erika, why am I not surprised you love Serpico?

What is the baseball field they're at toward the beginning? With all the columns? Is that the Polo Grounds?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh Oh! I can save you time and tell you how it ends.

snerk You're a giver, Laura. This is my 2nd viewing. The first viewing was in the theatre when it came out.

Always Anti-fascist!

Because I was born on the wrong coast.I'm continually making Mom think I'm weird by speaking about Camden Yards or Washington Square Park like I really know instead of from movies and books. I think you might be right, Trudy. Shaggy Pacino is such the hottie...almost makes you forget what he turned into.

The Polo Grounds were torn down in the late 50s/early 60s. I think Serpico was shot up at Yankee Stadium before they added the facade.

OMG according to my tv guide, Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold is on tonight. How terrible is it likely to be?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just in case anyone needs a reason to start watching The Sheild, the most recent ep had Bare-Ass Gina Torres.

(This announcement brought to you by the Committee To Make Sure Buffistas Don't Miss Out On Any Of The Naked Ex-Jossverse Actors.)

VERY terrible. Um, I watched it last weekend. :) (I'd just gotten cable! I was gorging!)

It's about the DAUGHTER of the original couple, and she takes an in-line skater, instead of a hockey player. Otherwise, it's basically the same as the original, only crappier.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Skimmer! Skipper! Pick one.
