If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, sure, but I didn't have any actual need for it. For me, it would have been accomodating my disinclination to sleep or study until crunch time.

But, as to Nilly's question about why, my feeling is there is a pervasive suspicion that students requesting accomodation are doing it for my reasons, rather than in response to real need. And that really sucks for the people who are not me.

I don't mind waking up briefly once an hour before my alarm goes off. However, every hour starting at 3:45 and roach nightmares? Can really do without. I think it is related to how warm I feel, but considering the apartment had been at a steady 65 for the past week .....mmrph.

FreshDirect is starting to install shared refrigerators in buildings, so that you don't have to be home to get your groceries delivered: [link]

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Tep, good luck with the blood test today.

Oh, they took the blood 2 hours ago. Now they have to go through the process of separating the actual blood from all the butterfat in my veins.

Tep, was it you asking about the iPod Shuffle the other day? I meant to answer and then I got distracted. I have one and I love it.

Every time I plug it in it just pulls a random hundred and some songs from my computer, though I could specify if I wanted. You can play them in order or randomly, so there's a little more control than it seems. And it's really nice how tiny it is - almost no weight to it at all, and the lanyard makes it much easier to cart around. That'll be especially nice in the summer when you're not wearing a coat so pocket space is at a premium - for dog walking, errands, running, etc., it's nice not to have to cram it in with the keys and phone and shit.

Now that they've reduced the price, I'd say it's definitely worth it. (I got mine free when a friend upgraded to a Nano.)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Oooh, not that my new apartment will be doing this anytime soon. I'd heard that certain buildings had already started accomodating storing FD deliveries-- what a great idea for FD to do. They can deliver once at a more convenient time for them, like the middle of a weekday.

Nora, any weekend you want to meet up for dim sum, let me know! That would totally rock!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Odds I'll ever live in a FreshDirect "preferred" building? Somewhere between slim and none. Ah well.

I hope vw's test is going well. Steph's too, for that matter.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I had Italian food last night and it was awesome.

Ah, so you went to the place you were hoping to go to? Good to know. I heard it was good, and very intimate in terms of space.

Salem is a wasteland for Chinese, in my experience. I haven't found a good place yet. There is an OK buffet at the Swampscott Mall if I'm really jonesing, but I've heard horrid things about Fantasy Island (as in it's Aku Aku bad). Maybe there's someting in Beverly.

Bryant Varney at NMU makes replica buildings made entirely out of Jenga blocks, without any glue. Very cool.
