Oh, long-term jury duty. Big boo. I had a co-worker who was out for a week on a murder trial (prisoner shivved a fellow convict while in the prison barbershop). Worst thing for co-worker was that the trial was at 26th and California, the courthouse in the diciest area of town with a parking lot in which you feel more vulnerable than you should surrounded by police.
ETA a completely different note--if you missed tonight's TDS/Colbert Report, make sure you catch the rerun tomorrow, because they were both excellent! The Paul Hackett/Ed Helms piece was one of the funnier bits I've seen on that show in a long time.
Skippity skip skipped since work had me working today and hundreds of posts were more than I could do.
It's a well done House/Wilson vid.
That's the first time I've seen footage of House. I've been a fan of Hugh Laurie since The Black Adder. I was really wondering how he'd sound doing an American accent. Like most Brits, I think he overcompensates on the "r", but I'm not sure I'd notice it if I didn't know he wasn't American. It sure is weird to see/hear him like that, though. I'm waiting for Netflix to send House my way.
Sorry, Perkins -- being an alternate seems like the worst of all worlds. But at least you probably won't have to stick around for the deliberations, right?

I'm going to have to go get free coffee, just on principle.

Um, is there any Buffista who is both jewish and surrounded by a wall that dates back to the days of a little bit after the biblical exodus? A few decades afterwards? No? If everybody's walls are from later dates, then I have nobody to wish a happy Shooshan-Purim to, and that would be a pity, since Purim has great cookies.
Although I was surrounded by walls only a few decades old, and not even Jewish, I did have some excellent hamentaschen the other night.
some excellent hamentaschen the other night
Oh, great! What were they filled with?
Speaking of hamentashen, Nilly, here's a cute link for you from my place of employ:
