"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

We had some tornado warnings. All we got was wind. A lot of wind. The kind of wind that makes you feel like you're falling down the stairs when it's behind you, and when it's in front, as if some mad bastard decided to test out a portable wind tunnel on your street.

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

This mess is what I was thinking of.

Woah. We only had unending rain over the weekend, and very gusty wind from the west yesterday. For which I am now very thankful.

Renick looks to be pretty much central Missouri, and the following stories are to the east.

I had a construction barrel blow into my car on the way to work Friday morning (Not Fun trying to dodge at 65mph!), but I didn't hear anything about the potential tornado cells actually forming funnel clouds in this area.

Geez, Matt. Glad you're here to tell the tale.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We had some crazy-ass wind and rain, but no tornadoes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Scary non-tornado wind!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A big chunk of downtown Evanston (including the CTA train station) was shut down yesterday until this morning. Some plywood and other stuff blew off a a big building that's under construction and injured a construction worker. They were afraid of more debris hitting people (and it was too windy to use the crains to get rid of the stuff), so they shut down five or ten blocks....

Our wings are not tired

From quite a ways back:

Drew--so you're working on the Tracy Letts play? He used to be the BF's client, back when the BF was an agent, and is now a good friend of ours. I believe we're going to the show with him when he gets out here. I'll be able to hear your work!

Oh cool! Enjoy the show. Don't judge my work too much on the basis of this show though, William has a very heavy hand in controlling how the design elements are used, so not a lot of my voice gets to show through.

ND, "French Connection" Friedkin? Cause, wow.

Yep, that's the one.

Offer him an omelette. (Tracy Letts, I mean.)

Unfortunately I don't think I'll meet Tracy. I pretty much teched this show in and then turned it over to an assistant so that I could get back to my show from hell, Pilgrim. So far we've had a Stage Manager walk off the show in the middle of Tech Week, and my A2 never showed up yesterday.

Trust my rage

So, all the smoke detectors in my house are going off. I've checked each one and there is no fire and I have no idea what set them off. Any suggestions on how to get them to stop, hivemind?
