Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was watching more of the Oscars last night, and I need the Lilly Tomlin and Meryl Streep show NOW.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Man, that would rawk.

Also, Altman's speech was good, and touching, with the thing about the heart transplant.

And Three 6 Mafia's acceptance speech may have been the best ever. "...And we want to thank the Academy, we loooove the Academy....".

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The Lily Tomlin and Meryl Streep bit was amusing at first, but it felt like it went on too long.

I forgot to mention in my original Oscar post about rolling my eyes forever about the repeated "see it in a theatre/DVD is evil" message. Maybe if theatres started making it a pleasant experience again, rather than an oppurtunity to spend a lot of money to watch a film you can't enjoy because of the inconsiderate strangers watching it with you, people might be more willing to go.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I didn't feel the Tomlin/Streep went on too long, and quite delightedly, they sustained it. There wasn't really another presenting gag that was funny past ten seconds.

Heh -- there were also fun things here [link] , except, don't you always get two pieces with one cut?

Three6 Mafia is about to be on Ellen. Good times.
