hip deep in pie

While I wasn't exactly enamored with any of the songs, apparently I'm a fuddy-duddy like Spidra in that I wasn't impressed with the win, or the fact they made obsolutely no attempt to dress up for the freakin' Oscars!

They had just finished performing, which is why they were in jeans, but they had been in suits on the red carpet.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Okay. I was on the road during the pre-show, but that's good to know.

Ok, did anyone else try this? Turns out to be work-safe, if heavy on the tin-foil hats.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do think they're pretty, but the premium on them seemed steep.

And so impractical! Who has a vase that would really suit long-stemmed roses? OK, maybe other people do but not me.

Also, about the Best Song win -- that song was completely integral to the movie -- it was "written" and performed by the characters in a really transformational sequence. It wasn't just a good song commissioned for the credits.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

As much as I love Dolly, this is why I'm really glad the Oscar went to "Pimp."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Who has a vase that would really suit long-stemmed roses?

I have one short vase and one tall vase. My tall vase is tall, but there'd still be a fair amount of stem peeking over the 18 or so inches of glass.

Maybe you need to get arrangements with vases.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think the Three 6 Mafia were the high point of the night.

And I dug Larry McMurtry's outfit. And his speech, because bookstores need the love.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
