Punishingly Intricate

I don't get what was insincere about Reese's speech. But I love her and loved her as June Carter so whatevs.

Pissed at Hoffman for not barking though.

haha me too! Just one little bark would have sufficed. But he was all thanking his mom and shit.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Definitely Eggshell, Tom.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Another vote for eggshell.

Chez Zmayhem is filled with bitterness this morning. I'm still feeling ferociously partisan and aggrieved on behalf of BBM (Hec hasn't seen it, but he is willing to take my word for it), and Emmett is full wroth at March of the Penguins winning Best Full-Length Documentary. "That movie sucks so bad! All the penguins do is march around and get eaten!" He was not at all appeased by the production team coming up to make their speeches with giant teddy penguins.

What was he rooting for? (I haven't seen the Penguin movie but was kind of hoping Murderball would win. I loved that.)

Our wings are not tired.

My boys growled at Penguins winning too. They hated it.

I haven't seen most of the films so I can't vote for the winners. Oh well. Seems that many were surprised with the outcome.

I did enjoy Jon though. I thought the opening was fun and the promo ads very fun. I think the review was way too harsh on my man.

He hadn't seen any of the others, but he was brimming with confidence from the moment he heard the words MOTP: "I don't know which one it'll be, but for sure it won't be that one. That will so lose! You watch how much it loses! It's so bad!" When it was over and he was swimming in impotent outrage, Hec rubbed his back and comforted him by pointing out that this will be good practice for a lifetime of being infuriated and baffled by the way other people vote.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

and if anybody honestly believes there's no such thing as a stupid question, they were not watching. Every single question asked of a celebrity on that show was stupid.

Unerringly so.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I thought Penguins was a really well-done nature doc of the sort that I don't see on PBS/Discovery/National Geographic as much since "when giant carnivores order takeout" took over the TV genre. Also, really pleasant on the 95-degree day I saw it.

On the other hand, Murderball utterly blew me away.

(And I suppose I shouldn't gripe too much, because I can't remember when I've had the chance to see two of the doc picks in the theatre, let alone managed to do so.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Until noon, faithful readers. Stay alive. We will find you.

I love the fuggers!

I also loved Jennifer Aniston rolling her eyes as she walked away from the pre-show interviewer.

What I do NOT love is the US Passport Agency hanging up on me, after telling me I might have better luck if I call tomorrow between noon and 3. @@
