Ha! Spoiled myself. Though I knew I would get spoiled eventually anyway. Feh on the pick.
I just finished the red carpet stuff, and if anybody honestly believes there's no such thing as a stupid question, they were not watching. Every single question asked of a celebrity on that show was stupid.
Notable highlights -- someone asking Jake Gyllenhall if his parents had any say in what roles he chose, and someone else asking David Strathairn if he thinks he's a star. Also, someone rambling on to Jennifer Aniston about how she's a trend-setter and how people liked to copy her look, and how did it all relate to "who she was wearing"? I liked her barely noticeable eye roll on her way out.
Ugh, glad now that I fell asleep in the middle of Reese's acceptance speech... seeing Crash win would have done unfortunate things to my blood pressure. (I was, of course, rooting for the gay cowboys, although I wouldn't have been outraged if Good Night and Good Luck had won.)
Ah well, at least Wallace and Gromit won, and Dolly sang amazingly.
Loved all the Clooney smoldering at the camera, as well as his great acceptance speech. Thought the best dress was Ziyi Zhang's--all that sparkly looked fabulous on her, and the black and white was beautiful. Worst dress was definitely Naomi Watts, and I hated the return of the nude/champagne dress (thought we saw the last of that a few years ago).
And I'm not too sure if I'll be crucified around here, but I liked Crash. Not enough that I thought it should have won Best Pic, but definitely thought it deserved the nom. It got me and my friend Tami (who is black), who saw the film with me, about racial issues that I was always a bit reluctant to bring up with her.
I was really bad with my moviegoing this year, and only saw that and GGaGL out of the big Oscar pics. I'll probably Netflix everything else, including Syriana, Walk the Line, King Kong, and Brokeback Mountain.
One thing is for sure... seeing the brief clips of Capote convinced me that I was very wise to skip seeing it at the theaters. Two hours of listening to PSH speak in Capote's voice would have elevated my distaste for him into the letter bomb range.
It was wearing, Matt. But fascinating, too. PSH earned that Oscar.
Review: Stewart fell flat

Not by the playbyplay here that I've just been reading!
At least Stewart has something to fall back on. :-)
I woke up at 4 AM with a migraine that is at last in retreat. Unfortunately, I'm well-rested enough that I think I'd better save my sick days and go in as regular.
working from home today. Not terribly sick, but not well and up and down all night. poor tummy.
Feel better, mspinkbelle!
Shower and caffeine helped the head some. Maybe walking around in the cold will do the rest....
I hate the trend of red carpet pictures containing several shot of the "reporters" who do thered carpet shows. I could give a rat's ass what Mary Hart and Jan Carl are wearing.
Michelle Williams and Jennifer Garner have the most lovely and genuinely happy looking pictures.
