Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Huh. I have the Crash DVD right here from Netflix, and still don't want to watch it. But the bit with Thandie chewing out Terrence for being Cosby-black was pretty funny, especially metawise.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I only saw GNaGL, but my understanding was that all the others were well above Crash, good movie though it may have been. I wonder if it had to do with being an ensemble piece.

Caffeine is good for some headaches, Spidra--have you ever noticed if it works on yours?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Here, ita, we can not watch it together.

We did buy Walk the Line today though.

Works on mine.

Any idea when GFY will have commentary?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

DJ, my beau and I think "Batman Begins" was well above "Crash" FWIW.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I don't usually drink coffee, ita. Plus I've been lucky enough before this last month to have been an infrequent victim of headaches. (You're sure this isn't a contact thing from being a visitor to b.org again? There's a high proportion of headache-sufferers here...)

Thanks, le nubian. I've been drinking water since a side-effect of my anti-depressants is dry mouth. But I'll keep drinking it.

Overall? Was underwhelmed by Jon Stewart as host. I think the job necessarily has him on too short a leash to snark enough.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

For those of you playing the home game, or possibly just for me:

The academy had a struggle, though, before deciding whether the song "In the Deep" was eligible because it appeared in a 2004 movie, "The Civilization of Maxwell Bright."

The nomination was allowed to stand after the academy concluded that Haggis commissioned the song and it was composed for "Crash" in late 2001 or early 2002.

Alright, I'm less worried about going with the coffee. So here goes.
