That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Oh Kat, I just started it. I'll try and read fast! Probably won't help especially since I'm limited to my 40 minute lunch hour and it will be weeks before I'm finished. Stupid job. I blew through 2 books while we were on our cruise to Mexico just a scant 2 weeks ago. Oh and thank you all for the rec of Gil's All Fright Diner very cute read.

Kat, I read MOST of it at Barnes and Noble the other night, but not ALL of it...so, I have to finish it! :)

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Ooooh, got more Octavia Butler on CD just in time for driving to Canada. Score!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What did you get?

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

Oh, ugh.

Meyers sued for plagiarism

Was waiting for this. Oy.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

As another instance of similarities, Williams pointed out that characters in both books call their wives "love."

How convincing!

The status is NOT quo.

Seriously? I'm not much of a Meyers fan, but that's ridiculous.

Always Anti-fascist!

Personally? Any time she spends taking depositions or seeing a lawyer she's not writing or talking to the press. Lawsuit Chick FTW. Even though she'll probably lose. (Yes, I really have that special Coultergeist feeling for Ms. Meyer. And when I first read that article, I thought Meyer was facing a suit like John Fogerty did, for self-plagiarism.) Fogerty ultimately did not get a judgment for that, but I've sort of thought he was pathetic since.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I read the EW article . yeah, meyer has her irritating qualities , but at least she doesn't claim to love or own the genre. and I am guessing we won't be seeing many more vampires in her books.

LKH -- in her interview, I figured out why her books lost the fun. She isn't afraid of vampires or werewolves -- so after a while , it gets boring - so everyone has lots of sex.

and P. C Cast ( I haven't read her books yet) is one of us. Her favorite vampire - Spike.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

That's a pathetic attempt to get people to buy a book "Read it and find the plagiarism!"It's pretty clear that Meyer did NO reading about vampires before writing about them. At all.
