See, my problem is I WANT to be goth, but other than occasional fun dress up with corsets, my daily wardrobe and things I want to buy and wear and feel pretty and looking sharp in is...J Crew style preppy. More old-school than when they get too trendy, but...I start looking at the plaids and the colors and the twee prints on wellies and go "ooh! why aren't I a bit taller and thinner so this would look better on me? And and, oooh! KNEE SOCKS!"

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
The most me I ever felt in many ways was at the RITA awards two years ago. Pity I don't have a life where I can walk red carpets every couple of weeks or so. (Like, for a real reason, not a Paris Hilton sort of reason.) Which, of course, is odd seeing as in my everyday life I'm very comfortable in my sweats and t's.
Aims, if you wander through here, any interest in this book?
Ooooh!! Am I ever!! THat looks awesome.
Eep! The website says my copy of Gothic Charm School is out for delivery! Soon it will be mine.
My "beach reading" for my vacay:

White Teeth
Twelfth Night
Gothic Charm School
I Was Told There'd Be Cake
Woohoo!!
Oooh! I've not read White Teeth, but I read On Beauty a few weeks ago, and it knocked my socks off.
White Teeth is awesome. Better than On Beauty, IMO.
Wow, I had the opposite opinion -- loved On Beauty, felt like I slogged through most of White Teeth. At the time, I thought it was because I couldn't relate to any of the characters, really.
I will admit that I thought White Teeth dragged in the middle. But I loved the first and last thirds so much, it compensated.
