I liked the worldbuildling more than the story
I agree. I'm fresh out of sci-fi/space opera stuff tho. Still slogging thru Perdido Street Station (which isn't space opera), and missing early Bujold.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Mieville is not a quick, easy read, no. But that book is pretty awesome, even if it leaves you feeling really dirty. We get it, dude, New Crobuzón is REALLY STANK.

Jilli!! It looks like my B&N isn't going to be getting any copies of your book!! Damnit. I can special order it for myself, but I can't handsell it at the counter.
I have that game, and I hate it a lot. Not more than I hate the book, but that would be tough to do.

Awww, drat! I'm kind of surprised they're not getting any, actually.
OH MY GOD PEOPLE! BOOK RELEASE DAY! EEEEEP!
Three other stores near me do have it in stock, but mine is one of two locally that doesn't. Shit.
