A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

“Not dead yet!”

Hmm... If you're going to give him a Crusie, then Bet Me is a pretty good choice. One of the absolute best romances I've read in the last year is Karen Templeton's Baby I'm Yours. Yes, it's a Silhouette Special Edition and I probably wouldn't have ever picked it up if it wasn't for the fact that I had to judge another one of Karen's books in the RITAs, but damn, does she write good contemporary romance with real characters dealing with real issues.

Our own Amy has a beautiful, beautiful book that unfortunately isn't on the shelves yet. *ahem*

I'll think some more.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My personal favorite Crusie is actually Faking It, but I love it so much I can't imagine listening to someone not like it! Also, it has been pointed out that the picture on the cover looks like me, with the scarf and the bob!

I would love a link to the smart bitches page-- and the Bujold, which is sci-fi based...hmmm. His current book is Anna Karenina, which I cannot get through!

Now I want to check out Baby I'm Yours! I don't read the Silhouettes anymore, so I never would have found it.

I do remember my mom getting bags of silhouettes and harlequins from women at work, and both of us read them, and then she shared them with other women at work.

ETA: I also want to read Amys book!

Because books.

January, Sophia!

I loved Bet Me, but I had to slog through Faking It. I don't know why. Fast Women was great, too, though.

I can't wait to start reading the Little House books aloud to Sara.

OK, it didn't hit me until now, but....hi mom? Kidding, cause we're likely close in age, but you spelled her name right! And are raising her right!

Because books.

Well, thank you!

I'd be happy to read them to you, too, if you like!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And yes, the Oz books! God, I loved the artwork. And Glinda is So Much Cooler in the books than in the movie - I hated movie!Glinda (although Wicked has redeemed her for me). Still, book!Glinda is cool and dignified and beautiful and elegant and powerful and has loads of gorgeous girly minions. She's sort of awesome.

Plus she had a sex change! So she was a transgender fairy princess.

I also loved The Borrowers books at that age.
