Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Art Crawl!!!

Hee. That would amuse. . . but no, I don't think that's what's going on.

(But the Rowling story apparently involves James and Sirius.)

Art Crawl!!!

Found at Readerville, but really from the New Yorker book blog:

Department of Sheer Genius

Because lately the only thing that seems to sell better than books about vampires is books about Jane Austen, Publishers Weekly reports that the writer Michael Thomas Ford has sold his novel about “an undead Jane Austen, frustrated by nearly 200 years of writer’s block and 116 rejections of an unpublished novel she finished just before turning into a vampire.” I have nothing to add to the brilliance of this idea.—Andrea Walker

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ha ha, sumi! That's pretty funny, given that the play I'm auditioning for on Saturday, called Pride and Succubus, "combines the longing and whimsy of Jane Austen romance with the blood thirst of vampires."

I just got Knut's book delivered right to my hot little hands!

Now the challenge will be to not read it until I go on vacation next week...

Sweet! I pre-ordered it, but for some reason, it hasn't shipped yet.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Do we have a spoiler policy for this thread? I'm not planning to read the new Novik right away because I've decided to avoid anything in the same ballpark as the WIP until it's finished and polished...

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Re the Novik books - I loved the first, liked the second, didn't finish the third, and haven't bought the fourth (or fifth). Do they get better? I was kind of disappointed in the third one.
