Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yeah, I read that statement from Niven awhile back and was stunned by the incredible meanness of it (if he was serious) and/or stupidity (if it was meant as a some kind of sick joke).

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Reason and talent are not usually related. I love Harlan Ellison stories.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Reason and talent are not usually related. I love Harlan Ellison stories.

Actually, after reading An Edge in My Voice, his collection of columns from the L.A. Weekly, I find Ellison to be extremely reasoned.

Not reasonable, mind, he's a colossal asshole. But you can't say he's as wackaloon as Niven.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Has anyone here read Cory Doctorow's new book, Little Brother? It's getting lots of traction out in the SF/F blogosphere. I ordered it today, along with Maggie Helwig's latest novel, Girl Falls Down.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I've got it on hold at the library, but I don't expect to be at the top of the list for another month or two.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wondered if OSC would come off like an ass.

I'm so naive.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gah.
