Awesome, Hec! I expect to be coming to a reading at City Lights next year.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
David, that's fantastic! Yay!
Congrats, Hec!
Hec, that's wonderful! Congratulations.
Congratulations, Hec!
In other news, this book review had me crying with laughter.
WARNING: Very, very, very unsafe for work.
That was really funny.
congratulations Hec
Hee. I know the woman who wrote that book. I used to edit her historical romances in my former life. To be fair, her historicals started off really well, and declined pretty quickly, and when she said she was going to write erotica, I was like, Buzzah?!
That review made me laugh so hard, my stomach hurts. Ah, Smart Bitches, how I love you. "This dude hath not a workable stiffy."
YAY Hec!
I'm reading that Ken Follett cathedral book(don't ask) and while I freely confess to being ignorant of medieval English church history, it bugs that the heroine, despite having her virginity stolen from her by three, angry, power-mad nobles is so orgasmic that her True Love barely has to touch her hand before she is blissed-out and screaming. ETA: I mean to say, I'm glad he wants her to like it and those scenes enliven a book that is preoccupied with eaves and what-have-you, but it seems like dubious psychology.
Oh. My. God.
I just got to the "Fucking her ass. Saving her life." quote in the review. And I'm CRYING with laughter. And possibly picturing it rewritten as really, really, really bad Supernatural fic.
Hec! Excellent news!
picturing it rewritten as really, really, really bad Supernatural fic.
oh god I think I just sprained something laughing
