I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

does anyone even remember Darth?

Out of proportion to my actual interactions with him, I think -- every time I think of North Carolina, I think of Darth and Cybervixen.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I know! I met Darth & C'vixen there on one trip. They were my first Buffistas F2F.

Its amusing that this ended up being my refuge more than his - does anyone even remember Darth? My lovely wonderful friend who lives way too far away now. :(

Yes, of course I remember him! Met him once or twice. See him still on LJ sometimes...

Tim Cox - Buffy: Anya, that thing you created burst through solid pavement and ate her dog. Anya (anguished): Oooh, puppy!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Um. Tim, it might be more appropriate to post that in the Great Write Way thread, actually. This thread is for discussion of books and literature, not posting of same.

Speaking of Monty Python: There is a series of books on Popular Culture and Philosophy that I think you folks would enjoy. You may have seen that among the first few books in 2003 was Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy: Fear and Trembling in Sunnydale. They have continued to publish over twenty others, including Harry Potter and Philosophy: If Aristotle Ran Hogwarts; Superheroes and Philosophy: Truth, Justice, and the Socratic Way; Monty Python and Philosophy: Nudge Nudge, Think Think!; and The Undead and Philosophy: Chicken Soup for the Soulless. They would help make your spicy brains even spicier.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Monty Python and Philosophy: Nudge Nudge, Think Think!

That's a beautifully horribly beautiful title. And I'm fairly certain I need the Harry Potter book.

Also, congratulations on your de-lurkage. From your ID number, it looks like you've been soothly lurking for quite some time. It's scary to take that first leap into visibility. Go team you!

Actually, this is now my sixth post in four years, and I'm going back to lurkage for the foreseeable future. But thank you, and I hope you enjoy the books!
