Good god. My friend picked up the book on Saturday morning. Her mother, on the other hand, picked it up on Friday night and decided the thing to do was text her the ending first thing Saturday morning.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
OMG. Bad mom, no biscuit!
decided the thing to do was text her the ending first thing Saturday morning.
WTF?
Seriously. Her mother is a piece of work on so many levels.
???
That's ridiculous!
Sounds like the mother who decided, during her daughter's wedding reception, that since the daughter had walked out she should go ahead and cut the cake for her.
I'm on page 690. I am at the point in all good fantasy novels where I can see the end is soon, but I'm not sure if I want to ever know what the end is.
I finished reading it about four hours after I started, and was all "YAY THE END!! Oh, wait. The END??"
That was my reaction exactly.
I just finished a book I think the Buffistas would like. It's called "An Alphabetical Life: Living it Up in the World of Books" by Wendy Werris .
It's about her life in the bookworld, first as a temp worker in Pickwick Bookshop and then as a book rep.
