Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

ASDAs have the latest Potter for £5. Which is a quarter of the RRP.

I was just looking at an HP fanfic site, and they've had to announce that they're shutting off new memberships to the discussion forum until after the weekend because some people are so bound and determined to spread spoilers that they're putting plot spoilers into their new thread names.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

People are creating new LJ names the same way. I would not want to be a moderator of anything HP-related right now.

Punishingly Intricate

Why do people have to be like that??? Oh, right, because humans suck a lot of the time. also, blow.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

That, to me, is a theme of the books. It's so painfully true. Not the way it should be, but the way the world is.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I wonder if Rowling ever sits in her castle and goes, "Yes, I *do* know how to write, thank you very much!"

I hope she does! I admire her mad plotting skillz. Except in OOTP, which has no plot.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Did you get my reccie for Midnight Confessions, Aimee? I like that one a lot for the strong Weasley family (both immediate and extended) that it had, as well as the neat idea of family magic

That's the one I've been working through all day. Off and On. I LOVE the wards.

I've got to reread that one--that's probably one of my favorite HP stories.

My favorite short HP fic is probably Desk Duty by Mosylu, set during OotP. Perfect for all librarians and book fans, HP fans or not!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

My two favorite HP fics are both by sam_storyteller over on LJ.

One (Remus/Tonks) is Amid My Solitude, which was written post OoTP, and managed to guess at Remus/Tonks before it became canon. Lovely, lovely stuff.

The other (also Remus/Tonks) is Cartographer's Craft. This one also has a pairing that might make one go bwuh? at first, but that ultimately works, and works well.
