Innit purdy? I pre-ordered two at Amazon (just to help get Allyson's author numbers up), but I couldn't wait till they shipped, so when I went to B&N to take a picture of the book in situ, I bought one. I'll give the others as presents.
'Same Time, Same Place'
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Yes - I went through the store clutching it. And I'd pre-ordered a copy from Amazon, so I think I'll give a copy to my favorite enabler, who's not on the board, but thinks you've been good for me.
I'll think I'll buy a copy for my friend Tami, who dropped by the first F2F in Chicago and met some of y'all.
I'm planning on giving it to a couple of close friends whose lips *still* lift when I mention my online friends. I've not been able to get them to understand internet connections--maybe the book will do that.
When my mom comes out to visit next month, I'm going to loan her my book to read while she's out here. I know she's baffled by my love of discussion boards, and I'm hoping that reading The Book will give her some vague understanding of why I like hanging out here!
You know, it occurred to me - with all the joking about having someone you've never met come to visit, or going to stay with someone you've never met, wouldn't it be ... um, amusing ... for such a situation to turn up on someone's doorstep wearing a bloody apron and carrying a plastic axe?
OK ... I'll shut up now.
My mom's all "Oh, I saw ita's name..." We need to go back to L.A. so she can meet her. My mom is, like, an ita fan. Any time she watches a woman kick somebody's ass, she's like "Could ita do that?" And I have to say 'maybe" because I can't tell martial arts apart.
erika, I think to be on the safe side, you should just say, "...with her pinky."
This is true.
Last night my mother asked me if I'd heard of a book with a funny title about Buffy fans, and I got all ridiculously excited and proud to tell her that the author is, in fact, a Buffista. Yay!
