I saw those recommended elsewhere, I forget by whom. At the time I think I could only find the individual stories and didn't really pursue it, but I do have Kobo plus which seems happy to let me hang onto included books for an indeterminate length of time, so onto the shelf it goes...

I'm in the last book of the Centenal Series, Malka Older's work before Mossa and Pleiti (Infomocracy is the first book). A political thriller, I guess, which isn't generally my thing but the world building is extremely interesting - very clear-eyed about politics and bureaucracy without being doom and gloom. And the action-y bits are very fun
