I took ltc to a book festival on Saturday and she talked Catherynne Valente’s ear off and then was the first one to raise her hand and ask a question after Joe Hill and Christopher Golden’s author talk. She also told several authors that she is already a writer. It’s like she has all of my interest but a poise and confidence I have never possessed.

I was like that when I was her age, then everyone decided to Prepare Me For Real Life by taking me down a peg. Sometimes I think they took a few too many pegs. ETA: Ok, so maybe "poise" is a stretch. But I was more confident, which might have become poise.
