Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Remembered the put-the-kindle-in-airplane-mode trick, maybe I can finish reading the TMC after all...

ETA looks good so far, officially returned but still on the kindle.

The Diamond Age is on sale for $1.99, I kinda want to buy it. I read it in paperback when it came out but I am pretty sure I don't have it anymore. I really loved it then, I wonder if I still would now

Thrive to spite them

Anyone looking for good audiobooks there is Dungeon Crawler Carl.

If that isn't your thing then look into SoundBooth theater because their narrates are top notch . Especially Jeff Hays. I don't really like audiobooks and I'm listening to my second LitRPG series narrated by him

Soundbooth theater has done Dracula that I haven't listened to but I did buy it's on my list

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I won an advanced reader copy of a new T Kingfisher novel on Goodreads the other day. I’m so behind on emails that I didn’t even realize it until it arrived in the mail. Now I just need some time to read it.

Thanks, -t. Hopefully I will get the last of the Christmas errands done today.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Post Deleted!

OK, getting a jump on my 2026 reading with three I just picked up from the library: Clay's Ark, Octavia Butler; A Closed and Common Orbit, Becky Chambers (read the first one this year); and The Never Wars, David Pedreira. Pretty psyched.

That which does not kill you should RUN

For Christmas, Tim gave me a Cat Sebastian book I hadn't read yet (We Could Be So Good), so that's next on my reading list.

Excellent. I decided to start with Becky Chambers.
